Detective Pulp Series / Before she kills / Fredric Brown

Ed and Am Hunter are a rather unique uncle-nephew private detective team in Chicago. “Am” is short for Ambrose, who is the uncle. Ed is the one who tells their stories, at least in this case.
In “Before She Kills” they are hired by a man who suspects that his wife is planning to kill him. To that end, Ed poses as the man’s half-estranged half-brother, whom his wife has never met. The wife is a former striptease dancer who decided after her marriage that she never wants to have sex again. To that end, her client has found another woman who loves him. Secretly, they have a young son together.
