Dean Harcourt of a Midwestern cathedral is the driving force in this story from contemporary America. The dean had been crippled by polio early in his career, and his subsequent suffering had sensitised him when it came to righting the wrong done to a young surgeon. He is also instrumental in bringing happiness to lonely young Phyllis Dexter.

Green Light is the story of a young surgeon who takes the blame for his mentor’s fatal mistake during an operation, and about his personal quest that follows. A lesser known gem from the author of Magnificent Obsession, but this book is well worth reading.
