Legend of the five Rings / The Four Winds Saga / Edward Bolme

Legend of the Five Rings is set mainly in Rokugan. There are mainly people living there, divided into a society based on clans, with eight major clans and various smaller clans, but at the moment they are all in confusion and vying for one of their members to become the new emperor. They are regularly threatened by evil intrigues from within, but the greatest threat still lies in the southwest of Rokugan: the deadly expanses of the Shadowlands, where demonic hordes wreak havoc.
