Dead Air / Mike Lupica

Peter Finley is a reporter for a cable TV station and the narrator of this funny story. Billy Lynn, who comes to Finley’s Manhattan office from a small town in Alabama, electrifies the reporter by claiming he was married to Peggy Lynn Brady, a highly respected TV station anchorwoman. The missing and presumed murdered Brady had risen (bed by bed) to fame and fortune, making enemies along the way. Finley agrees to help Lynn find the woman’s killer and keep the partnership a secret from the police. The reporter is to interview Brady’s producers, colleagues and the video preacher who wants to buy the station she has turned into a lucrative business. But the murders of others closely associated with the actress change Finley’s investigative methods and lead him to a shocking discovery.
