Four men show up in the small settlement of Buffalo Wallow in eastern Colorado, take over the post office run by a man named Casey Day, and from there take the whole town hostage. Their plan is to rob a stagecoach carrying a lot of cash for a bank in Denver.

After the thrilling heist, the criminals – after killing several people – escape with the money. Casey Day, who already has a black mark on his name because of a previous robbery that took place on his watch, sets out to kill them and get the money back.
