Somewhere south of Midnight / Stephen Laws

Harry Stark and his family are driving on the motorway on the first night of their holiday. They drive south to the harbour where they will catch a ferry. Harry looks at his watch. It is just after midnight. The motorway is suddenly flooded with light. A blinding, intense, painful light. There is a terrible pile-up. A bloodbath. Harry’s wife and daughters are dead. But somehow Harry himself and a handful of others escape the scene with barely a scratch. There are only seven survivors. Survivors who have survived the disaster unscathed, but somehow changed.
