Richard, Robin and Nigel, the members of the club, are ordinary boys from ordinary families who happen to share a taste for the macabre in films and videos, books and comics. And then they take a fourth member into their club – Toady, an anything but ordinary boy with a taste for the macabre in real life. From the moment he lures the others into a nerve-wracking séance in a house with an eerie reputation, their lives are haunted by horrors worse than they could ever have imagined…. In a mixture of nightmare and reality, horror creeps through the familiar streets of a sleepy seaside town, waiting to invade the safest of homes. The ever-present taint of evil spreads like ripples on a pond, leaving a trail of desecration and death in its wake. One by one, the members of the horror club are overwhelmed and forced into an underworld halfway between illusion and reality. It is up to the last member to fight alone against the evil they have unleashed – until he finds an unexpected ally in the final battle.
